Thirty Changes

Moved the desk beside the wall

Turned the speakers, changed it all

Painted blue, then painted white

Swore this room would feel just right

New old chair and cables neat

Fresh new rug beneath my feet

But the first track hit the air

And I found one more thing to repair

Take it down, build it again

Round and round, where does it end?

Thirty tries, one final test

Maybe this time, maybe best

Change the room, change the view

Move the panels, shift the groove

Thirty changes, every turn

For the sound I had to learn

Now the desk sits just right

And the speakers sing all night

After all that rearranging

This is home—no more changing!

Moved the keyboard, raised the screen

Cleared the corner, trimmed the green

Swapped the lamp and faced the door

Then I moved it back once more

Tried the curtains, changed the chair

Taped a blanket here and there

Every little fix I made

Brought the room a step toward great

Take it down, build it again

Round and round, where does it end?

Thirty tries, one final test

Maybe this time, maybe best

Change the room, change the view

Move the panels, shift the groove

Thirty changes, every turn

For the sound I had to learn

Now the desk sits just right

And the speakers sing all night

After all that rearranging

This is home—no more changing!

Count them up: one through twenty-nine

One more shift and the stars align

Turn the desk a little left

Hear that balance, hear that depth

I press play and let it run

No more lists of things undone

Change the room, change the view

Thirty turns have brought me through

All those changes, every try

Led me to the perfect side

Now the desk sits just right

And the speakers sing all night

After thirty rearranging

This is home—no more changing!

Thirty changes, now I know

Found the room where good songs grow

One last listen, one last grin

Perfect fit—I’m staying in
